True North is located on the vortex rich second mesa of the Kolob Plateau section of Zion National Park in southern Utah.  The Kolob Plateau is the intersection point between the Mojave Desert Plateau and the Colorado Plateau, affording Kolob a stunning geological blend of high desert and mountains.  This secluded setting is surrounded by stunning red rock monuments, seasonal waterfalls, ancestral caves, superb hiking trails, herds of cattle grazing green pastures, horses basking in the afternoon sun of a vermilion backdrop, and deer and elk meandering along the sloping hillsides stippled with Cedar, Pinon & Ponderosa Pine and Utah Juniper trees.    Under a painted sky at 6,000 feet elevation, fragrant varieties of sagebrush and high desert wildflowers abound.  With Kolob Reservoir to the north, Virgin River to the south, and North Fork Creek to the east, this top of the world quiet is unparalleled.

About Our Name

True North is the geographic northernmost point on the planet.  True North is not the same as north on a conventional compass.  The designation of conventional compass north is actually aligned with the magnetic north pole.   The closer you are to geographic true north, the less accurate a magnetic north compass reading becomes.  True north, therefore, is the top of the world.  Reaching the top of the world true north requires sensitively tuned and responsive tools, and The Center for True North provides those tools through its programs and services and diverse range of products.

True North's programs, services and products have been designed to inspire our clients to pilot themselves to their top of the world true north and to imbue their lives with essential sacredness.  As needed, The Center for True North will guide and encourage all clients and participants in the implementation of our services and programs and the utilization of our products. 

Our programs, services and products outreach to the fields of social service, psychology, education, religion, business, media, community design and arts organizations, and birthing and hospice centers, and are provided to persons regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, spiritual or religious orientation, economic classification or sexual preference. 

Unless otherwise specified, all of our programs and services are designed, facilitated and/or hosted by Mariangela Pino Landau and Hank Landau.

True North’s Facilitators

Mariangela Pino Landau is a Medium, Mystic, Metaphysical Minister and Poet.   She earned a BA in Communications, an MFA in Performance Art, has studied and received accreditation from Unity Church, the Lyran/Causal Millennium Institute and Church of Religious Science and holds honorary Doctor of Divinity and Doctor of Metaphysics Certificates.  

In addition to designing and facilitating True North’s programs and services, Mariangela is the author of True North Transmissions, a 12-volume series of mystical writings which are a compilation of insights and observations obtained by Mariangela through telepathically transmitted messages, self-facilitated vision quests and mystical contemplation.  True North Transmissions Volume One entitled Spiritual Adulthood ~ Our Encoded Heritage ~ was self-published in October 2007.  She has also created and produced three Meditative Journey CD’s entitled A Journey into Cosmic Heart Communion Chamber, Experiencing Your Cosmic Identity and Communing With Your Celestial Council all of which function either as companions to or independent of True North Transmissions Volume One.  True North Presentations and Gathering at the Well Workshops are two programs, co-designed by Mariangela and Hank and facilitated by Mariangela, which are offered approximately every six weeks throughout the year in a variety of local and international venues.  She has also authored five books of poetry, Eighteen Days of Rain, Through the Cracks, Nothing Wrong With Me, So Much to Say & What If, which will be in available print in April 2009.

She describes “true north” as signifying an innate desire to direct one’s life in accordance with an authentic inner compass.  For her, true north is not a path with an exact measurement or definite destination but rather a path of personal discovery and integration, a place where ideas, concepts and insights can intersect without invalidating one another. 

Hank Landau, True North's co-director is an Spiritual Alchemist and a certified Reiki Practitioner who markets and produces all True North programs, products and services. With Mariangela, he co-facilitates many True North programs. He has also participated in and staffed numerous men's Sacred Path Retreats.  For the past eleven and a half years, he has been a passionate and dedicated student and facilitator of mystical practices and sacred rituals.  Earlier in his life, Hank earned a B.S. in Finance, and created and developed several successful entrepreneurial ventures.

Mariangela and Hank share an exalted and grateful life with each other, their daughter, two

canine and two feline celestial companions on the vortex rich second mesa of Kolob Plateau surrounded by stunning red rock monuments, seasonal waterfalls, ancestral caves and slopping hillsides stippled with a variety of sage brush, desert wildflowers as well as Pinon & Ponderosa Pine, Cedar and Utah Juniper trees.
